How a Hand Unfolds

You post an ante, optionally add a side bet, then look at your cards. Backing the hand costs a second stake equal to the ante. The dealer's cards are then turned over, and the dealer qualifies only with Queen-high or better. A non-qualifying dealer pays your ante and returns the raise; a qualifying dealer is compared against you directly, with both wagers paid at even money if you come out ahead.

Sitting on top of that is the ante bonus, which pays extra on a straight or better no matter how the comparison goes. Combined with the Pair Plus side bet, it gives the game two ways to reward a strong hand independently of the dealer.

Strategy Without the Spreadsheet

Sound play comes down to one benchmark. Queen, Six, Four is the point at which backing the hand becomes worthwhile; below it, surrendering the ante costs less on average than adding a second unit. Ironically, simplicity is the trap. After a good run, attention drifts, thresholds loosen and stakes creep upwards, often without the player noticing. The fix is mechanical rather than emotional: decide your stake and your stopping point before the first deal and do not revisit either mid-session.
